Hi, I’m a new mom in California behind Lv1 Mama — and yes, the name says it all.
I’m a Level 1 mom. Brand new. Still figuring it out. And honestly? It’s the most chaotic, exhausting, hilarious thing I’ve ever done.
So, Who Am I?
I’m a Korean mom living in Hacienda Heights, California, raising a 4-month-old baby boy who came into this world and immediately decided sleep was optional. ☠️
Before becoming a mom, I thought I was a pretty organized person. I had my routines, my snack stash, my little life figured out.
Then he arrived.

The Honest Truth About American Newborn Life
Nobody told me that parenting in the U.S. would feel so… different from what I imagined growing up in Korea.
Back home, there’s sanhujori (산후조리) — that beautiful postpartum care system where someone literally takes care of YOU after birth. Here? You’re discharged from the hospital in 48 hours and handed a tiny human like “good luck!”
So I did what any millennial Korean mom would do — I stress-ate my way through it. 🍩

My Survival Kit (So Far)
Four months in, here’s what’s actually keeping me sane:
1. Good snacks — I’m talking serious comfort food. Korean snacks, American sweets, H-Mart runs at odd hours. If it’s sweet and it makes me feel better, I’m writing about it here.
2. Baby gear that actually works — I’ve gone through more products than I’d like to admit. The ones that survive? I’ll tell you all about them.
3. Vitamins I actually remember to take — postpartum life is no joke. I’m slowly building a routine that doesn’t make me feel guilty.
